Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) announced today that a large delegation of Qatari businessmen will travel to the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday to discuss means of enhancing trade relations between the two countries.
The Qatari delegation, which includes 70 businessmen, seeks to review investment opportunities available in Qatar and Oman and explore the possibility of forging alliances between Qatari and Omani businessmen as well as establishing joint ventures in the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman.
Chairman of Qatar Chamber, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, said the visit will review ways to strengthen relations between Qatari and Omani businessmen leading to greater cooperation in various trade and investment sectors, stressing Qatari businessmen’s strong keenness to enter the Omani market and establish partnerships and alliances that lead to greater cooperation in the commercial and economic fields.
In this context, he praised the Omani position on the Gulf crisis and the unfair blockade imposed by three GCC States on the State of Qatar since June 5, noting that the Sultanate of Oman has provided great support to Qatar through the direct maritime line between Hamad Port and Sohar Oman Port.
He also stressed that the Omani companies are willing to supply food products to the Qatari market.
The visit of the Qatari businessmen delegation to Oman would open prospects for cooperation between the two sides and pave the way for the signing of agreements between the Qatari and Omani companies to enhance trade exchange and joint ventures, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani said.
Qatar Chamber has urged businessmen to take part in this visit to enhance trade cooperation with the private sector in the Sultanate of Oman, he went on saying.
Many Qatari companies have started contacts with Omani companies for the import of Omani goods, he added, pointing out that the visit of the Qatari delegation to Oman will enhance this cooperation through direct meetings between Qatari and Omani companies aimed at concluding bilateral agreements and deals.
He expected that the visit will witness the signing by several commercial agencies deals to import Omani products to Qatar as well as the establishment of alliances and partnerships between Qatari and Omani businessmen.
He pointed out that there are promising opportunities for Qatari businessmen to invest in the Sultanate of Oman, stressing Qatar Chamber’s readiness to support this trend.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani pointed out that Qatar Chamber is keen to open new horizons for trade cooperation with different countries, which will organize similar visits for Qatari businessmen to other countries during the coming period in order to enhance trade mobility through all available alternatives.
