Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) took part in the 120th Session of the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture held in Muscat.
The Qatari delegation was led by Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al -Thani.
The meeting aims at enhancing the Union’s successes and achievements over the past decades to achieve its objectives and fulfill its role in activating the Arab free trade zone agreement and boosting inter-Arab trade and investments.
A number of meetings have been held during the session, including the Advisory Committee of the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Committee of Arab- Foreign Chambers of Commerce Affairs along with the Union’s Financial Committee, Executive Committee and Council.
The meetings witnessed the amendment of the Union’s Statute within a new perception based on a proposal submitted by Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
After taking proposals of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) and Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, the new statute of the Union was adopted and it shall be effective after six months from the date of the 120th Session. (QNA)
